What is EAA Young Eagles?
The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to
give interested
young people, ages 8 - 17,
an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation
airplane. These flights are offered free of charge
and are made possible through the generosity of EAA
member volunteers.
Since 1992, approximately 1.3 million Young Eagles
have enjoyed a flight through the program. Young
Eagles have been registered in more than 90
different countries and have been flown by nearly
40,000 volunteer pilots.
The current Chairman for the Young Eagles program is
actor Harrison Ford.

How does
Chapter 34 conduct
Young
Eagles
Flights?
In general Chapter 34
conducts Young Eagles Rallies several times each
year.
During these rallies we
have flown from as little as 8 Young Eagles (due to
weather)
to as many as 90 Young
Eagles. All to the delight of the Youngsters, their
parents,
the pilots involved and
the ground support crews!
Some of our pilots will
fly individual Young Eagles but in general, our
Chapter is geared towards the rallies!
Since the inception of the
Young Eagles concept in 1992, our Chapter pilots
have flown 3823 Young Eagles (as of
January 2007).
